Look at this new project between Montenegro’s Ministry of Finance and UNDP. This project is part of the Open Government Partnership. The plan is to visualize the 2012 national budget, hoping it will spark the interest of citizens.
“Making sense of data and telling stories around data is essential. We decided to exploit the fact that people process images much faster than text. We really liked Kenyan Budget Explorer with data spanning from 2002 to 2011, as well as the tool Australians use to track Government spending and see where their taxes are going. In addition, we thought Nigerian budget made simple was really cool, and we were also impressed other gripping uses of data and charts out there.”
