Should we focus on the use of radio to achieve accountability? TRAC.fm's example
TRAC works in African countries affected by poverty and conflict, for improving the welfare of people by enabling them to make informed choices and to hold their leaders accountable. It gathers data to enhance transparency and informs people by unleashing the power of mobile communications.
As examples, radio listeners can report on service delivery through SMS, and polls can be conducted regarding transport, environment, healthcare and education, among others.
